Postnatal Follow-ups

Once you have given birth, a birth notice will be sent to your local CLSC.

A nurse from your CLSC will contact you and may schedule a visit to your home or to the CLSC.

Postnatal follow-ups are there to:

  • Provide breastfeeding support
  • Assess the mother and the child’s health
  • Provide advice and guidance on care for the mother and newborn in terms of health, safety, etc.
  • Address your concerns and questions as a parent

If you require postnatal follow-ups for issues such as breastfeeding, jaundice or weight loss, don’t hesitate to make an appointment with a nurse.
