Emergency Department

Adults with an urgent mental health problem can go to the Emergency Department of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For non-urgent issues, the person must get a reference from their family physician or go to the Psychosocial Intake at their CLSC. After the needed level of care has been assessed, they will be referred to the appropriate service.
