Who to Consult? When?

You or a loved one has one of the following symptoms?

  • Difficulty breathing;  
  • Chest pain;
  • Intense headaches, severe dizziness, sudden weakness on one side of the body, difficulty seeing or speaking;
  • Significant or unexplained bleeding, vomiting blood;
  • High fever with confusion or sleepiness;
  • Intense abdominal pain, extreme sensitivity, pain along with frequent vomiting;
  • Sudden fainting or loss of consciousness;
  • Severe allergic reactions: sudden swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, widespread rash.

Call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

The primary care access point (GAP) is a service offered exclusively to those who do not have a family doctor and who are registered on the Québec Family Doctor Finder (GAMF) waiting list


This new service provides individuals who don't have a family doctor with a better assessment of their healthcare needs so that they may be referred to a healthcare professional who can manage their needs.

In addition to checking that medications are safe for you, your pharmacist can also :

  • Prescribe medications for simple health problems, such as seasonal allergies or eczema, or for preventive purposes such as smoking cessation.
  • Adjust your doctor's prescription to ensure proper dosage.
  • Request laboratory tests to monitor drug efficacy and safety.
  • Administrate your vaccine.
