The Santé Québec Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire is the largest of the 5 health care facilities on the island of Montréal. It covers an area of 184 km2, including 8 cities and 4 boroughs, for a population of nearly 375,000 inhabitants.

Territorial: The territorial service area includes the territory of Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle and the West Island, as well as Ste. Anne’s Hospital and the Centre de réadaptation de l’Ouest de Montréal. The Grace Dart Extended Care Centre is also part of the Santé Québec Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire territorial service area because places in residential facilities are managed at the territorial level by each health care facility on the island of Montréal.
Extraterritorial: This service area covers St. Mary’s Hospital Center, which is located within the territory of Santé Québec Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire, while being part of Santé Québec Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire.
Regional (throughout the island of Montréal) and supraregional (throughout the province): These service areas include 3 constituent institutions of Santé Québec Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire. The responsibilities of Douglas Mental Health University Institute, Batshaw Youth and Family Centres and Ste. Anne’s Hospital go beyond the territorial service areas.
Across Canada: The Residential Treatment Clinic for Operational Stress Injuries of Ste. Anne’s Hospital offers mental health care and superspecialized residential services (3rd line) to Canadian Armed Forces Veterans as well as both active and retired members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Users are referred by operational stress injuries (OSI) clinics across Canada, as it is the only facility to provide in-patient services. The Mental Health and Addiction Programs Directorate’s OSI Program service offer is complemented by the OSI and pain clinics serving Western Quebec.
