The organizational ethics consultation often includes support in the development, review, or analysis of policies, practice guidelines or continuous quality improvement initiatives. It also aims to support decision-making at the strategic and governance levels, particularly with respect to financial or organizational decisions whose outcomes may have an impact on clinical care.

Organizational ethics in healthcare refers to the norms, principles, and values that guide behavior within care institutions. Its purpose is to regulate human relationships in order to prevent harmful practices and protect the organization.

The Organizational Ethics Service can also provide training opportunities: The ethics consultants provide education for healthcare professionals on different ethical subjects.

Santé Québec - Code of ethics and rules of conduct

The Code establishes the values, rules of conduct, and ethical principles expected of all members of Santé Québec, which now includes the Santé Québec Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal - Universitaire’s employees, managers, and professionals. It sets out the principles, obligations, and behaviors expected in the performance of our duties.

It puts into action the 5 organizational values that express the way we wish to act on a daily basis, in particular with respect for the rights of users: Respect, Commitment, Compassion, Collaboration and Excellence.

The purpose of the code of ethics is:

To provide clear benchmarks for making fair decisions;
To encourage ongoing reflection on how to act with integrity, transparency, and a sense of responsibility;
To help resolve complex situations that may arise in care and services or in their management;
To promote fair, respectful, and trust-based relationships with all our partners and colleagues.
