La Minute mentale, la voix des jeunes

Too often, information regarding youth mental health comes from two worlds that seldom connect:

  • Experts, whose knowledge can seem out of reach;
  • Young people, who share their personal experiences online, but don’t always have a scientific understanding of the subject.

La Minute mentale, la voix des jeunes is where these two worlds meet: a podcast with and for young people who choose the topics, share their stories and talk to experts.

When lived experience meets science

Each episode focusses on personal experiences and questions brought forth by young people. Researchers and mental health professionals then offer their insight in an effort to help our youth better understand the issues being addressed.

La Minute mentale, la voix des jeunes is more than personal accounts and interviews with experts. It invites dialogue between real life experience and scientific knowledge, offering food for thought that is balanced, accessible and hopeful.

Topics that reflect the concerns of our youth

The series addresses a wide range of topics that directly affect the lives of teenagers:

Sexual diversity and gender identity

A collaborative and scientific approach

This series, which was made possible with support from the Fonds de recherche du Québec, was developed in collaboration with young people from the Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health. The project also plays a role in training the next generation of scientists by giving doctoral and postdoctoral students the opportunity to develop their skills in science popularization and knowledge mobilization.
