Useful information

The Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) covers most hospitalization charges for Québec residents.
Some services and medical treatments are not covered by the RAMQ. If you require such services or treatments, you will be informed. If you have private insurance, you must check to see if they will cover them.
The hospital is not responsible for decisions by insurance companies about the reimbursement of services that are not covered by the RAMQ.
If such charges are applicable, you must pay them before receiving those services.

Patients who are not covered by a provincial health insurance plan

Care and services are provided only in emergency situations.
You must pay the fees for your visit. The rates are revised each year and could change.
The rates do not include the physician’s fees, which are billed separately.

Refugees

You must show one of the following documents to verify that you are eligible for the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) or if you are the parents of a newborn.
- Refugee Protection Claimant Document—IMM1442B
- Interim Federal Health Certificate—IMM5695
