On October 21, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) acknowledged a notice from the Syndicat du transport de Montréal (representing maintenance service employees) about a strike scheduled from October 31 to November 28, which will impact metro and bus services.
The parties have held discussions to agree on the level of essential services, to be submitted to the administrative labour tribunal, which include:
- Maintaining adapted transport at all times;
- Maintaining a certain level of bus and metro service;
- Potentially providing maximum service on election day, November 2.
