Commemoration

Commemoration: A Unique Facet of the Montréal West Island CIUSSS!

When Ste. Anne’s Hospital became a part of the Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (MWI CIUSSS), the CIUSSS gained a facility with a rich tradition of commemorating the veterans it has welcomed since 1917.

In tribute to the veterans of the Second World War and the Korean War who reside there, as well as to the veterans of other conflicts and peacekeeping missions around the world who receive treatment for operational stress injuries there, the Communications Directorate of the Montréal West Island CIUSSS and the Recreation Department at Ste. Anne’s Hospital organize commemorative activities at various times throughout the year. In addition to Veterans Week, which takes place each year from November 5 to November 11, other significant anniversaries are commemorated in order to pay tribute to these brave men and women, who have sacrificed so much to defend our nation’s values of peace, freedom, and democracy.
