As part of the 27th Action Week Against Racism, the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal invites you to join us for an online conference taking place on March 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. This activity reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. It stands against stereotypes and all forms of discrimination, and works to create environments that are inclusive and culturally appropriate for its staff and for the community we serve.
The three conference speakers will address a variety of topics:
- Corinne Béguerie‑Goddaert, Ph.D. – Université Laval
Internationally Educated Physicians and Nursing Personnel: Navigating complex processes through uncertainty and exclusion from skills recognition pathways - Gisèle Mandiangu Ntanda, Ph.D. – Université du Québec en Outaouais
Racism and access to health and social services: Structural constraints and levers for advancing equity - Jude Mary Cénat, Ph. D. – University of Ottawa
Inequitable Care - Compromised Health: the human cost of racism in Canada’s healthcare system
Racism remains a major health determinant, with real impacts on mental and physical health. It plays a role in both individual experiences and in obstacles that limit access to equitable care. Action Week Against Racism encourages us to acknowledge these realities, to further our understanding, and to strengthen our collective commitment to an inclusive environment through concrete actions.
During Action Week Against Racism, let’s go from knowing to doing—together.
