Vegetable gardens are sprouting up at several of our CHSLDs! From June 5 to 16, 2026, the Grace Dart Extended Care Centre, the centre d’hébergement de LaSalle, the centre d’hébergement de Lachine, Ste. Anne’s Hospital and the Maison alternative Dorval hosted a community gardening event that brought together residents, the Sustainable Development Committee, students from Collège Sainte-Anne and the site teams. Together, they planted fruits and vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and pollinator-friendly flowers.
The activity provided a wonderful opportunity during which the participants shared both memories and gardening tips. Beyond the imminent harvest, this project promotes resident well-being, cool islands, biodiversity and intergenerational connections.
