If you are in an affected area:
Electricity
- Turn off the power if water is advancing or seeping in.
- If there is water in your home, leave immediately and call Hydro‑Québec to have the power shut off.
- Do not use any electrical appliances around water.
Carbon monoxide (CO)
- Never use gasoline or propane powered devices indoors, even with a window open (deadly gas, invisible and odorless).
- If the CO detector rings: get out and call 911.
Floodwater
- Avoid all contact
- Wash your hands frequently
