Montréal is preparing for the arrival of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships Montréal 2026 - Plan your trips now

Montréal is about to experience a historic moment as the host of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships Montréal 2026, which will be held September 19 to 27.

For just over a week, more than 1,000 of the world's best athletes will compete in a series of 13 events held in the streets of Montréal. This major event will also have significant impacts on traffic and parking in several areas of the city.

Things to know about barriers

  • Routes will vary each day depending on the event being held. This means that obstruction areas and street closing times will be different from day to day.
  • Fences will be set up on the courses early in the morning, around 7 a.m. (depending on the race schedule).
  • At the end of the competition(s), the affected street(s) will reopen to traffic.

Closure of the main event area

  • The event's main area will be located at the foot of Mount Royal, on Avenue du Parc between Avenue des Pins and Avenue du Mont-Royal.
  • This strategic site will host the start and finish of all events as well as the Bonjour Montréal Fan Village.
  • Because of the large scale of the venue, the area will be closed to traffic from September 5 to October 4 (including the setup and takedown periods).

Trip planning resources

To find out which streets are closed and help you plan your travels, a dynamic map of the event is available online.

The map shows the day-to-day location and time of:
