What is the training?
It is a skills training certificate in Support for Assistive Services in Health and Social Services Institutions.
This vocational training program will prepare you to work as an orderly (a job title commonly known by its French acronym “PAB”) or as a health and social services aide, primarily in long-term care facilities (CHSLD) within our organization.
This 705-hour training program, which will be offered in French, is given in partnership with the Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys.
The program starts on September 28. Students are in class 30 hours a week.
The schedule is from 8 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday.
What are the pre-requisites for admission to the program?
Eligibility requirements:
• Have completed the equivalent of Secondary 3 in French, English and Mathematics;
• Have completed French Language Proficiency Level 7 at minimum;
• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident;
• Commit to working for at least one year as of the end of the program to meet the employer’s needs.
Where will the training take place?
The courses will be given at Ste. Anne’s Hospital, where there is an opportunity to learn in a long-term care facility.
Is financial aid available for this program?
$12 000 bursaries from Santé Québec are available. You can apply for financial aid by contacting the person listed in the contact section below.
The scholarship program is available exclusively to permanent residents and Canadian citizens.
Am I guaranteed a job after completing this training program?
Upon completion of the training program, participants in the PAB Academy are likely to be hired as orderlies.
How can I get to my courses at Ste. Anne’s Hospital?
Parking is available at a reasonable cost and public transportation is also available (REM).
